Wow. It's been sometime since I last wrote in this eh? Well, here's a short recap. Like I said, 18/10/00, we had a buddies night thing, and I went. The place was really nice. Lovely decor. A lot of people turned up surprisingly (ok, maybe not really, since there were free cocktails). All Law students - Year 1s, 2s & 3s. I met my buddy, a nice girl by the name of Jeni. I also spoke to the other law people I already knew and made more year 1 friends. It was quite fun. Drinks were about £3 or £4. Music was loud and not retro (thankfully). No dancing, just a lot of mingling and talking and lounging. Everyone kind of left early, so I did too. It was altogether an interesting night out (we had to wear name tags so our buddies can find us and so that we'd know who everyone was! sheesh.) Yesterday was spent exercising! Didn't do much in the early part of the day (notice I had no school!). But my afternoon was spent at a step aerobics class (tiring!) and also at the beginners ballet class (I joined in) and the intermediate one as well (it was immediately after the beginners one). My calves ache now because of that. I could barely get out of bed. There were quite a number of people at the steps class, not many at the beginners ballet (surprising!) and the same number as before in intermediate. Exhausting but fun!
Next I went to Granary Wharf. I had thought it'd be pretty "happening" with tons of shops and stuff to buy, but it was so quiet with hardly anybody walking around and hardly any shops open! Really disappointing. Again, this place sells interesting stuff, some are also expensive, others, a steal. There's a Japanese restaurant there, and you can get your palm read, or get a tarot reading there as well (very appealing! But it's like £5-£10!) I bought an engraved seal and sealing wax. I thought it'd be cool to seal my letters the traditional way. Heh. Pretty. It's my initial - 'M'. I wonder if Granary Wharf is busier during the weekends. I hope it is! I remember looking down the tunnel to the Wharf (I was on a bus passing the area) and seeing alot fo people walking in and out. It's near the river and you'll know every time a train goes by because the rail station is nearby too. I think it'd be pretty scary to be there at night! Tomorrow, I shall study. Really! By the way, I set off the fire alarm in my block today. It was horrible! And very embarrasing! I don't think it was the fire alarm, but the smoke detector that I set off. It all happened when I decided to stir-fry chicken for dinenr... and I tend to smoke up the place (I realised the window was closed shut a bit too late). They don't have one of those smoke sucking thing that I have at home! This place sucks. Well anyway, we (all of us in the block) had to assemble outside and I was told off by a real bitch, the Clarence Dock Advisor. She wasn't nice at all! It wasn't intentional, and I was truly confused and didn't know what the heck to do (she was shouting at me to evacuate the building so she could investigate the fire.. What fire?! It was only smoke, and I did it! Surely I'd know if the building was burning! But no point telling her.. she didn't listen) I really didn't like being scolded by her and I cried. Not in front of her of course. That horrible woman. No, horrible THING. My flatmates were really nice about it, and they were all trying to make me feel better. I really appreciated that. Apparently in other blocks, the fire alarm goes off very often, and it's a common occurance, so it's no big deal. Such nice people. Remind me to do something for them. Well. Eventful day. Evening especially. I did my laundry too. Wow. So much in less than 24 hours. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. G'night. |
